The second annual Tour of California rolled through the Bay Area and the Metromint dots were out in force to watch the action. What a gorgeous weekend for racing - with the temperatures making it feel like summer (well, almost like summer compared to Belgium)!

During the prologue, we lined the course to cheer for Fast Freddie Rodriguez and all the other very fit pros. After the prologue, some of us were fortunate enough to hear Phil Liggett and Greg LeMond narrate Greg's 1989 Tour de France victory. Greg was a sport and stuck around afterwards to sign autographs and, of course, wear the Metromint "toasty coat!"

For Stage 1, some of the dots were seen course marshalling (if that's a verb) or were seen on Coleman Valley road for the big climb of the day. A group of teammates rode up to Point Reyes Station from San Francisco to watch George Hincapie and Freddie Rodriguez battle it out the first sprint bonus points in Stage 1. For Stage 3, some folks were able to duck out of the office in San Jose to see the finish and others were on the Sierra climb to see the agony on the riders faces. What a treat to have such great racing in our own backyard!
