What got me into cycling: I took up spinning after a bad breakup. I loved the workout, and realized it would be so much more fun in the fresh air.
Day job: Writer/Writing Instructor
Where I grew up: western North Carolina
What got me into racing: Realizing I'm competitive at age 30.
Music that gets me going before a race: Kanye West, JayZ, Kings of Leon
Favorite post-race food: banana, pita chips & hummus, burrito (in that order)
Number of years with the team: 2
Favorite ride: Alpine Dam, Bofax, anything on the Blue Ridge Parkway
Most memorable race: Patterson RR 2012: The first race I let myself say out loud that I wanted to win. I didn't win first, but second + some confidence felt fantastic.
Best team moment: Working with Minties to get Gale on the podium at Folsom Cyclebration. Brooke's finish after all that attacking rocked!
Cycling accomplishments: Getting dropped frequently has strengthened my love of the chase.
